About Cankoon

Cankoon searches Syrian classified marketplaces and displays their results. This policy describes the current website and app. This version does not offer account creation or ad posting, and sales and payments do not take place through Cankoon.

Search data and service operation

Search terms, filters and selected marketplaces are sent to Cankoon's server to perform searches. The necessary search details are passed to selected marketplaces. Opening a listing preview requests its details from the source. Do not include passwords or sensitive personal information in searches.

Search URLs contain your query and filters, so these may appear in browser history or links you share. Application logs record operational information such as the source, request outcome and duration. Hosting and security providers may process connection information, including IP addresses and request paths, to operate and protect the service.

Location

When you choose to locate yourself, the app requests device permission to find the nearest Syrian city. Coordinates are converted to a city on your device, and the city is used in search. This flow does not send precise coordinates to the search API or track your location in the background. You can refuse permission and select a city manually, or revoke permission in device settings.

Preferences and analytics

Cankoon stores your language preference in a cookie for up to one year and your theme choice in local storage until you change it or clear site data. The website uses Google Analytics to understand visits and page usage. That service may use cookies, browser identifiers, device information and interaction data.

Custom conversion events do not include search text or listing titles, but automatic page measurement may include the page title, URL and search parameters. Analytics retention depends on Google Analytics settings. Browser settings can restrict cookies; clearing them does not delete information previously sent to the analytics provider.

Marketplaces and external services

Some images and marketplace icons load from external services, which may receive connection information needed to display them. When you open the original listing or share its link through another app, that provider's privacy policy applies to its processing. Data may be processed outside your country depending on the hosting, analytics and marketplace services involved.

Retention and your choices

The current version does not maintain an account profile or a persistent database of your search history. Some search results are temporarily cached in server memory to reduce requests. They normally expire for reuse after one minute, but may remain in memory until evicted or the process stops. This does not cover hosting logs or analytics data, which follow their respective retention settings.

You can clear site or app data and revoke location permission. To ask about information associated with you or request its deletion, including an account from an earlier version, use the contact below. Clearing your device data does not delete listings or accounts held by other marketplaces.
